From the moment he was born and could hold 2 sticks, Matty has been drumming. Hailing from a musical dynasty, Matty started playing in his local church where he honed his craft and developed his love for music.

2013 Matty won the prestigious Young Drummer of The Year and has never looked back. Going on to play for the UK’s top artists on some of the world’s biggest stages:

Wretch 32, Lion Babe, Little Simz, Sugar Babes, Plan B, Fluer East, Dave, Rita Ora, Jonas Blue, AJ Tracey, Crystal Fighters, Jacob Banks Olly Murs, Ellie Goulding, Liam Payne and more!

Matty, along with his partners in crime Iziah Yarde (@iziahyarde) & Levi Yarde (@leviyarde) have gone on to shape much of the UK music scene with their unique blend of urban / contemporary music, infused with hints of Gospel.

2019 saw Matty play on the legendary Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury for Stormzy, the first UK Grime artist to ever do so. This was a moment in history and a one to remember as Matty had reached the pinnacle of UK music. 2022 saw Matty musically direct his first ever Brit Awards performance and it’s only the beginning for him.
